User type: anyone, as long as they have permissions
Regarding downloading a copy of the PIA, which is called a consultation information package (PIC), the user, depending on the access regime, will be able to download the PIC in the following formats:
- PIC download URL. The purpose is for the user to be able to copy this URL and send it to users (who need permission to access it) or save it as metadata in the file management applications available to the user (similar to the concept of a topographic address in traditional archives).
- PIC in XML-METS format that includes only the PIA metadata. In this case it is an XML file
- ZIP that includes both the metadata (mets.xml file) and the documents that are part of it, as well as an HTML viewer to visualize the XML file in a user-friendly way.
PIC display when downloaded in ZIP format
Once you unzip the ZIP file, you will see that the structure of the query information package is similar to this:
- One or more folders called “BIN…” which will have as many as there are documents and signatures in the information package.
- A folder called “viewer” that includes the XSLT configuration files.
- A file called “mets.xml” which is the representation of the PIA in Mets format and includes all the metadata associated with the package.
- A file called “SEAL.xml” which is the signature generated by iArxiu to guarantee the integrity of the PIA at the time of entry.
- A file called “mets.html” which is the HTML viewer.
To view the HTML viewer, you must open the file called “mets.html” and at this point the viewer will open in the corresponding web browser:
From the viewer you can consult all the metadata associated with the information package, as well as consult/download the documents that are part of it. You can see that much of the metadata appears “hidden” at first since the viewer works with boxes that expand and contract.
