Users, provided they have the appropriate permissions, will be able to search the archive information packages archived in the repository using any descriptive metadata, whether at the level of a composite documentary unit or a simple one.
Limitation: there is no search engine for file content.
The platform includes two types of search:
- Basic search. This mode allows you to search for PIAs based on any of the following values that correspond to the basic identifying metadata of the PIAs being searched for:
- Name of the documentary series.
- Date the file was opened or date the document was created.
- Closing date of the case.
- Date of entry into the PIA.
- Title/file number/identifier iArxiu.
- Advanced search. This mode allows you to search for PIA based on any metadata that is part of the metadata vocabularies that have been used to describe the PIA.
Search criteria
Free text field searches are case insensitive and will allow searching for substrings of text.
The following limitations must be taken into account:
- Different vocabularies cannot be used in the same search.
- It does allow the use of more than one metadata, but it must be from the same vocabulary.
- The search results are limited to 1000 PIAs. If this limit is exceeded when performing a search, the platform will inform you that there are more PIAs that meet this search criteria.
Search results
Both basic and advanced search will present users with a list of results that meet the search criteria entered and will show the following information about each PIA:
- Date of entry into the PIA.
- Identifier iArxiu of the PIA.
- Title of the documentary series to which it belongs.
- Date of opening of the file.
- Closing date of the case.
- Title of the PIA.
- File number.
By clicking on the identifier of one of the packages in the search results list, you can directly access the content of the PIA.
The user can also download the search result in an Excel file that includes the basic data of the PIAs.
